What a devastating letter to receive from your own church. Wow. I am so sorry, Allen.
Graham Church was a generous and faithful supporter of Allen and Jasmine Long.
I have never been to Graham Church. Graham Church has never contributed towards my ministry. To the best of my knowledge, I have never even met anyone from Graham Church or their Missions Committee. Yet, my “shepherds” (leaders in NTM) shared confidential information about me with them, which they in turn shared with others. This was done without my knowledge or consent.
As soon as I saw this email, I wrote back to Graham Church and told them these charges against me are false. I told them I was sorry they had never taken the time to check with me before they accepted everything that NTM says. I also asked them to retract the letter.
They never answered.
I asked the field leadership in Thailand for their help.
They never answered.
Here is a quote from a New Tribes Mission Executive Board member: “I can assure you that we have changed our leadership style and the way we work with people.”
A little grain of salt with that, thank you.

After receiving the above letter I wrote to Graham Church telling them that I knew of no reason why anyone involved whould support the conclusions in their letter. I invited them to come see the work for themselves and to draw a conclusion based on the mutual fellowship we have in Christ. I was seeking reconcilliation with them.
Let me quote a portion of their response that came SEVERAL MONTHS LATER: “We are not interested in disputing the grounds of our dismissal letter. We must again point out that the information on which we based the dismissal letter was extensive and well-researched. You should not draw the conclusion that it was formed from conversations with just a few individuals”
I would like to make it public that I want reconcilliation with Graham Church. I last wrote to the Church on March 12, 2009. NO RESPONSE! Is there somebody out there who can help?
The “extensive and well-researched” information that Graham Church used did not include any correspondence with me – not by phone, email, mail or in person.
NTM is a wonderful organization. Much good has been done in its name. The leaders are personable, attractive, eloquent and charming. They are warm and confident. They have “presence.” They have a great deal of credibility.
Bernie Madoff was like that.
